Stephen has expertise spanning many areas of employment law, having worked almost exclusively in the employment space throughout his career to date. He has advised on contentious and non-contentious issues, for both employers and employees. His focus is on providing advice that is technically precise, while also being commercial and pragmatic.
With experience in a large commercial law firm, he understands that when issues arise, businesses need prompt, cost-effective assistance which is legally sound, but also tailored to the particular needs to the business.
Stephen has represented clients in mediation and has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority. He has particular experience regarding issues of employee/contractor status, restraints of trade, disciplinary and performance management processes, restructures and medical incapacity processes.
